macOS Management with Intune
More and more employees are working on a Mac. But how do you manage those MacBooks with the same control, security, and compliance as your Windows devices? Without a separate management platform, without additional licenses, and without double work for your IT team.
We specialize in macOS management through Microsoft Intune. One platform for all your devices. Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, all managed from the same console.
macOS and Microsoft Intune
Mac in the workplace: control or guesswork?
Organizations invest heavily in securing their Windows workplaces. But as soon as a MacBook appears on the network, it often falls through the cracks. No management, no policies, no visibility into what’s happening. And that while the number of Macs in the workplace keeps growing every year.
The Mac has become an integral part of the business environment. 84% of large Dutch organizations have employees working on a Mac. And that number is growing. But in many organizations, those Macs are still set up manually, managed separately, or not managed at all.
That creates risks you’d rather not have.
An employee buys their own MacBook and links their personal Apple ID to the company domain. The IT department has no visibility into which apps are installed. FileVault encryption is turned off. Security updates are delayed for weeks. And when that employee leaves, the question is whether all company data gets wiped.
Sound familiar? Then it’s time to take Mac seriously as part of your endpoint management.
How we do it
One platform for all your devices
Most organizations already use Microsoft 365 and Intune for their Windows devices. What many IT teams don’t realize: that same platform can fully manage and secure your Macs as well. Without Jamf, without Mosyle, without a separate Apple-specific system.
We set up macOS management through Microsoft Intune so your IT team works from a single console. The same compliance policies, the same reporting, the same security standards for every device in your organization. That saves not just license costs, but also the complexity of managing multiple platforms.
Our approach always starts with an inventory. How many Macs are there? How are they currently managed? Which apps are in use? Based on that, we create a concrete implementation plan that fits your organization, your pace, and your budget.

What we do
Apple Business Manager and automated enrollment
Apple Business Manager (ABM) is the foundation of professional Mac management. We connect ABM to your Intune environment so new Macs are automatically enrolled at first boot. The employee signs in with their Microsoft Entra ID account and the device configures itself: apps, security policies, network settings, and certificates. No manual configuration by the IT department, no USB sticks with images, no employee who needs to visit the office.
With Automated Device Enrollment, Macs become supervised, which means the organization has full management access. That’s essential for security policies that otherwise can’t be enforced.
Platform SSO and identity management
One of the biggest frustrations for Mac users in a Microsoft environment is having to log in repeatedly. With Platform SSO, we create a seamless integration between the local macOS account and Microsoft Entra ID. Sign in once and you have access to everything: Microsoft 365 apps, SharePoint, Teams, and all SaaS applications connected to your Entra ID.
App deployment and configuration
We set up app deployment so all business applications are automatically installed and updated. Whether it’s Microsoft 365 apps, company-specific software, or internal tools: everything is centrally managed through Intune. Including configuration profiles for settings that match your organization.
Additionally, we configure macOS-specific settings through Intune: FileVault encryption with recovery key escrow, Firewall configuration, Gatekeeper settings, software update policies, and privacy preferences. Everything you expect from a fully managed Windows device, but for the Mac.
Declarative Device Management
Apple is investing heavily in declarative device management, a newer approach where the device itself is responsible for maintaining the desired configuration. We implement declarative management through Intune so your Mac fleet leverages the latest Apple technologies for faster and more reliable configuration.
Why Intune instead of a separate Mac management platform?
There are excellent Apple-specific management platforms like Jamf and Mosyle. But for most organizations, a separate platform isn’t necessary and may even be undesirable.
With Microsoft Intune, you manage all your devices from the same console. One set of compliance policies that applies to both Windows and macOS. One reporting environment. One set of conditional access rules in Microsoft Entra ID. No double license costs for a separate platform that your IT team also needs to learn and maintain.
Intune now offers extensive macOS support: from declarative management and Platform SSO to custom compliance scripts and security baselines. For organizations already using Microsoft 365, Intune is the logical choice: you likely already have the license and your team knows the environment.
We help you maximize those capabilities. Not with a default template, but with a configuration that fits your organization, your apps, and your security requirements.
macOS Security and CIS Hardening
A Mac is not secure enough for business use out of the box. Just like Windows, security settings need to be actively configured and enforced. We implement security hardening for macOS based on CIS Benchmarks, the same independently validated standards we use for Windows.
That means concretely: enabling FileVault encryption with recovery key escrow to Intune, configuring and enforcing the macOS Firewall, setting up Gatekeeper so only approved software runs, deploying software updates automatically and timely, configuring screensaver and lock policies, and disabling unnecessary services and features.
All these settings are deployed and monitored through Intune. With compliance policies and automated reporting, you always have insight into the security posture of your Mac fleet. And if a device no longer meets requirements, access to company data is automatically restricted through conditional access.
Relevant for you?
Who should mange macOS with Intune?
This is relevant for organizations that recognize one or more of these situations:
- You have employees working on a Mac, but those Macs are managed separately or not managed at all.
- You already use Microsoft 365 and Intune for Windows, but the Macs fall outside your management scope.
- You’re considering a separate platform like Jamf but prefer to avoid the additional complexity and cost.
- Employees are linking personal Apple IDs to the company domain and you have no control over it.
- You want to comply with security standards like CIS Benchmarks or NIS2, but don’t know how to configure that for macOS.
- Or your IT team simply doesn’t have the specialized knowledge to optimally configure macOS through Intune.
Whether you have 10 or 500 Macs: we help you manage and secure them professionally.
